Tike compiles statistics on agriculture, rural development and food production. These statistics contain information about the structure of agriculture, production, and prices of agricultural products. Tike's statistics also provide information about food supply and consumption as well as agricultural products used by the food industry.

Most of the statistical information is obtained directly from the administrative registers of agricultural administration, which facilitates and speeds up the preparation of statistics. Furthermore, part of the information is collected directly from the enterprises and farms, while the aim of the Statistical Group is to minimise the response burden of information providers by developing, for example, sampling models and by prioritising data needs.

Statistical data

Statistical data are published in Tike's publications and in the web-service called Matilda (www.matilda.fi). Additionally, several statistics are submitted regularly to key customers, such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
