The statistical publication, Agricultural Census 2000, is a compact information package, which offers the reader an excellent source of data regarding agriculture and entrepreneurs in rural areas. The publication contains the key results of the agricultural census conducted in 2000 in Finland. The agricultural census is carried out every 10 years, and the next one will be conducted in 2010.
The publication contains nearly 300 pages of statistics on, e.g., the number of farms, areas in various land uses, livestock management and crop production as well as on machinery and equipment in farm use. New topics covered include organic production and secondary business activities on farms.
Numbers are illustrated by four-colour statistical graphs and maps, which enable the reader to get a better overview of the state of agriculture.
Structural survey experts of the Statistical Group of the Information Centre have written their analyses on each of the subject matters of the publication and added their comments on most of the graphs and maps.
